U.S. Bank Altitude Connect eSIM Benefit
Since you are planning a trip to Seoul and Hong Kong, utilizing the U.S. Bank Altitude Connect eSIM benefit is a great way to stay connected without roaming fees.
U.S. Bank has partnered with GigSky to provide this service. Here are the specific details for your card and how to set it up for your trip.
The Benefit Details
The Plan: You receive a 5 GB complimentary cellular data plan.
Duration: The plan is valid for 15 days once activated.
Usage: It works in over 175 countries, which includes both South Korea and Hong Kong.
Frequency: You can redeem this benefit multiple times. Once your current 15-day plan expires or you use the 5 GB, you are eligible to activate another complimentary plan using your card.
How to Activate
Download the App: Install the GigSky app on your iPhone or Android (must be an eSIM-compatible and unlocked device).
Create an Account: Sign up within the app.
Add Your Card: Add your U.S. Bank Altitude Connect Visa Signature card as the default payment method.
Note: Do not use Apple Pay or Google Pay for this step; the physical card number must be entered to verify eligibility.
Claim the Plan: Once the card is verified, the "U.S. Bank Altitude Connect" complimentary plan will appear in your available plans.
Activate: Wait until you are at the airport or have just landed to hit "Activate", as the 15-day countdown begins immediately.
Pro-Tips for your Trip
Dual SIM: You can keep your primary SIM active for iMessage or emergency calls while using the GigSky eSIM strictly for data.
Reloading: If you are staying in Korea/Hong Kong for longer than 15 days, simply wait for the first plan to expire and then follow the same steps in the app to claim your next 5 GB.
Data Savings: To make the 5 GB last, turn off "Low Data Mode" and disable "Background App Refresh" for non-essential apps like social media or cloud photo backups while on cellular.
